Literacy and Numeracy

Literacy and numeracy concepts can be learned from birth.

Children internalize these concepts as they construct with blocks, play shopping using play money, count objects and the list goes on.As children begin to engage with these concepts they begin to develop an understanding of counting, addition, subtraction and various other mathematical concepts. Children also develop an understanding of what words represent and how this knowledge can be applied to their world. Such experiences allow children to connect with literacy and numeracy at their own pace and to use their ideas and language in contexts that mirror real life.

Our service provides environments rich in language and mathematics without the need for direct instruction. When children see language and number concepts used around them in meaningful ways they begin to internalize them.
